Our Home - Past, Present and Future

Mr Mr Pearce, the Creative Director of Creative Mile ran a series of art session for refugees and asylum seekers during Refugee week which took place the week of the 17th June 2024 and sponsored by Hounslow Council.

The invitation was to create images 1.Past - what you have left behind  2.  Present - what life is like now  3.  Future - what your hopes are for the future.  Art materials were provided and was suitable for all ages and no previous experience or skills of making art were required.  

Artwork was displayed during Refugee Week at Holy Trinity Church, Hounslow and will be on display during the Creative Mile festival weekend.  

The art project and exhibition aims to highlight refugees' experiences and perspectives and bring awareness to the wider community.

This project aims to provide a platform for refugees and asylum seekers to express their experiences and aspirations through art, focusing on Creative Mile's 2024 theme of time.

The project seeks to empower refugees by allowing them to visually express their personal journey through images representing the past, present, and future.
