Based in XYZ Brentford, B.AIT WEST is an artist led event focused on sound, moving image and live performance techniques.

What in the name B.AIT WEST?

The name B.AIT is a combination of B for BYO (bring your own) and Ait, the name for an island in the tidal stretch of the river Thames. Our location in Brentford overlooks Lot’s Ait and Kew Gardens on the Thames side.

B - When running artist led events we often face funding challenges where it is difficult for us to provide basic facilities such as access to PA systems. To overcome this we call on the artists to extend BYO and bring small speakers along with everything else they need for their output.

AIT - Artists, collaborative groups and niche events operate as islands either by choice or through lack of opportunity. With B.AIT we work together to create a safe and supportive environment where experimental artists can test and develop work... still an island, but just a little bigger and stronger.

WEST - The B.AIT WEST curators all have a history of programming and supporting experimental events in West London. Our activities range from collaboration, live performance, research, educational workshops, artist development, publishing and working with buildings for cultural output.
