Maryville Care Home

At the heart of Brentford, Maryville Care Home is a hidden gem waiting to be discovered by the local community and not only. It’s home to 39 residents that are cared by our wonderful staff. Our residents are very creative and talented and in the last years they have realised some amazing work art that they will be thrilled to share with the community.

The care home is in the grounds of St Mary’s Convent, the core of which is a fine Georgian mansion dating back to 1764, a Grade-II listed building with many original features. There are many interesting and beautiful art works in the convent, some produced by the convent community, including paintings, statues and textiles. In the Heritage Room there is a special display of art works produced by the nuns over the years, some of which are fragile, and are being placed on temporary display specifically for this event.

There are guided tours of the convent and heritage rooms on the Saturday at 11 am and 2 pm, and Sunday at 10.30 and 2pm, lasting for approximately one hour each, with a maximum of 10 on each tour. The tours will go from the garden at the back of the convent, near to the entrance to Maryville Care Home, first come first served only. There is limited disabled access to parts of the tour due to steps, any queries about access needs should please go to the archivist Paul Shaw at paul.shaw@psmgs.org.uk or 0208-568-7305.
